It seems that the governor of NJ has given up on the power of email entirely and is returning to only using face to face communications. Read the article excerpted below:

Facing a Lawsuit, Corzine Swears Off E-Mail

Gov. Jon S. Corzine of New Jersey has stopped using e-mail in response to a lawsuit seeking e-mail messages he exchanged with the state union president who is also a former companion, Mr. Corzine said he had decided simply to stop using e-mail. He has insisted that his e-mail essages from a private campaign account to the union leader, Carla Katz of the Communications Workers of America Local 1034, are private, and therefore insulated by executive privilege.
To avoid any problems, he said, he has decided to rely on a mode of communication that was in vogue well before he was born in 1947. “We’ll go back to the 1920s, and have direct conversations with people,” Mr. Corzine said.
While I understand Governor Corzine's predicament, I doubt that he can turn back the clock for long. A better approach would be for him to learn how to use email "responsibly" and harness the "power" of email while recognizing when direct conversation would be the better medium. Maybe he can start by reading the postings in my blog and the wonderful articles on email etiquette that I reference in them.
